Our u16's took on Garforth Rangers in a highly competitive league play off game at Micklefield Recreational Ground yesterday.
With a message of "togetherness" from day 1 of the season our young Milford team showed the "together" spirit and worked their socks off for the win, covering every blade of grass, winning all the tackles and most importantly, being disciplined in their roles to get the job done!
Garforth are a big, physical side who like to play a long ball to compliment their size and strength but we outwitted them with our philosophy of getting the ball down and playing football. That's not to say we didn't compete, as we controlled the game from start to finish with our midfield bossing the game and picking out direct passes to out front men to attack with aggression, and the defence were rock solid, letting in only 1 goal from a great finish, which was in a 5 minute period of nervousness from our young lions.
After a tactical change to sure things up we never looked like conceding again, which was all credit to the lads for being "adaptive" and willing to do any job they are asked to do, for he good of the team!
A great finish to the end of the season for the lads!!
WELL DONE CHAMPS!!
